WD EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE KEEPS DISCONNECTING

Wd External Hard Drive Keeps Disconnecting

Today, we see how to fix the WD external hard drive that keeps disconnecting.

External hard drives have become a favorite to most of the computer users as they are very much portable and allow you to stuff a lot more data into them. If a person is handling too much data, then they prefer to have an external hard drive with them. It not only lets you back up your information, but also preserves it, secures it. YES! You can protect your data on your external hard drive by setting a password. So, every time you access your hard drive, you need to enter a valid password. That means, complete protection for your data is guaranteed.

The external hard drive, being a data saver, also provides some trouble to the user. The problem isn’t that serious, so you need not panic. But whenever users face an error while accessing the drive, they panic (mostly for losing their data rather than their hard drive). So, we thought of helping you solve some of the basic issues you face with external hard drives.

Here, we choose to fix the WD external hard drive disconnecting issue. Our solution applies to most of the external hard drive disconnecting problems. So, you can follow the instructions for other brand hard drives also.

TRY WITH A DIFFERENT USB PORT

This is a simple solution, but it works most of the time. The USB port on your computer might be damaged, or the driver might be corrupted. In this case, your external hard drive keeps disconnecting. So, try connecting to a different USB port that is available. Nowadays, systems are equipped with two or more USB ports to connect your peripherals. Use any of the unoccupied USB ports or swap the connection. If you are currently using the USB 3.0 port, try to connect to the USB 2.0 port. This might affect the transfer speed, but the connection will be stable.
