Just as expected! Good Buy! July 22, 2010 Chris J. I needed something to expand the amount of data I could save on my laptop, this was perfect and was reconized immediatley. Had absoulutley no problems on Windows XP SP2. 320 GB is plenty of space for all the movies and games I download. It comes with a standard usb cord as well as a nifty carrying case perfect for traveling. Good Buy.
Easy to use July 17, 2010 Ken I backed up my Mom's computer (Windows 7) and my own (XP)with out any problems. The only thing that bothered me was that it took forever to back up XP.
Exactly What I Wanted July 16, 2010 Alli This external hard drive is slim, light, and works exactly like it should. It may not have incredible amounts of storage space, but if you're like me and you just need a backup for your basic files, this is perfect and probably your least expensive option as well.
One of the coolest harddrives around. July 13, 2010 Bradly Brackenbury (Missouri) It may be a little early to review this, since I just received it four days ago. But it's been a great four days with this lovely little hard drive. I almost wish I had waited and bought a bigger size when I had the money.
But, bang for your buck? You bet. This little bombshell comes with a great 3-foot mini-USB/USB male cord so it's just as simple as plug and play. Really. You don't need to mess around with drivers unless you have Windows 98 or maybe Apple. Not enough power? There is an extra USB end for a power boost to your drive. Yes, it can be inconvenient to take up 2 USB slots, but for the portability and size, I'd say it's a fair trade-off for larger HD's that require an A/C power source. I haven't actually needed to use the extra USB except when I'm using my USB extension. My front USB port doesn't work, so I haven't tested that, but it should be fine for nearly all standard USB ports. It also gets enough power from my Wii with only one port.
It comes with a protective sleeve which I use nearly full-time. It's nice and will be a good insulator if your drive is sitting on metal like mine is. Also if you're a butterfingers and drop things a lot, it's a nice little grip.
Past experience with hard drives has never been fantastic. I've owned a few Western Digitals that still work but only once in a blue moon after about a year's use. I've owned a Maxtor 300GB that was DOA. Would've been nice, since it didn't require A/C power either. So, I was a little skeptical with this, and I'm not keen on doing a durability test on it, so my advice is just be gentle with it. A lot of HD's will become less reliable if they are carelessly transported or handled rough. So if you're looking for longevity, do yourself a favor and don't treat it like your cell phone.
DOA's do happen, but this is a hard drive you will want to take a chance on. I did and so far I've had a great time with this thing. DEFINITELY recommended. You'll be hard pressed to find a cheaper HD for the size.
Great External Hard Drive for a Fabulous Price! July 12, 2010 Carla Gerber The Hard Drive is wonderful. It is slim and can easily fit in your pocket or purse. It holds a ton of memory and makes it safe and convenient place to store all my photos and personal things.
